What are the criteria for hosting a Class?
•Archeological project undertaken by a professional archaeologist or Graduate Student and sponsored by a public entity, or a private entity such as a museum or historical society. The project cannot be part of a contract or within a project area where a private CRM firm is conducting a Section 106 project.
•Research design
•An accessible archeological site containing metal
•Permissions and permits
•Commitment to fulfill obligations for report preparation, analysis and artifact curation.
•Pre-class ground preparation such as vegetation clearing and mowing, if necessary
•Object recordation equipment (sub-meter GPS or total station) unless other arrangements are made in advance.
•Access to classroom space if available.
•Access to restroom facilities, if available.
•AMDA will not produce a site report; conduct analysis; or be responsible for the recordation of archaeological materials found during fieldwork, as these items are the sole preview of the principal site investigators.
